New CTO Leads Technology Vision for Healthland

Odell Tuttle brings impressive technology track record to healthcare IT provider

GLENWOOD, Minn., July 7, 2009 - Healthland, America's market leader of healthcare information solutions for small community and critical access hospitals, announces the appointment of Odell Tuttle to the role of chief technology officer. Effective immediately, Tuttle will lead the technology and system design teams and will work with Healthland executives to plan and drive the company’s technology roadmap.

Tuttle previously held the position of chief architect with Gearworks in Eagan, Minn. At Gearworks, Tuttle focused on building a technology platform for the company’s mobile healthcare product, OnCare. His experience also includes roles in enterprise architecture and development with Digital River, Net Perceptions and Imation in the Twin Cities.

Tuttle is a member of the Health Information Technology Standards Panel (HITSP). The newly formed panel is designed to serve as a cooperative partnership between the public and private sectors to achieve a widely accepted and useful set of standards to enable and support interoperability among healthcare software applications, as they will interact in a local, regional and national health information network for the United States.

Holding a bachelor’s degree from the University of North Dakota, Tuttle also attended the post graduate software engineering program at the University of St. Thomas, St. Paul, Minn. Tuttle is a creative, results-driven technology leader with more than 15 years of experience in software engineering, architecture and technical management. His expertise is working with large scale networks, databases, and multi-tenant hosted platforms. Tuttle added, “It is my vision to show this market that software for electronic health records can be delivered on a well-architected and highly intuitive platform.”
