Healthland Supports Transforming Healthcare with Exhibit at HIMSS 2009
Leading healthcare IT provider to report new economic stimulus bill survey results, showcase innovative products and announce recent customer signings at Chicago event
GLENWOOD, Minn., March 18, 2009 - Healthland, America's market leader of healthcare information solutions for small community and critical access hospitals, today announced it will exhibit at HIMSS09 Annual Conference and Exhibition, April 4-8, McCormick Place, Chicago. At the event, Healthland will report results from its recent customer survey surrounding the economy and economic stimulus bill. In addition, the company will conduct product demos and announce recent customer signings and success stories.
“HIMSS09 is one of our largest industry events,” said James Burgess, president and CEO of Healthland. “This conference not only provides impressive educational sessions and the opportunity to network with other leading organizations in healthcare IT, but more importantly, it gives us the chance to spend time with our customers and prospects from rural and critical access hospitals. Considering the recent moves in healthcare reform with the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA), it has never been more critical to reach out to rural hospitals and physicians to understand their needs in the current environment, and to help them navigate through the new healthcare IT provisions.”
HIMSS09 is one of the largest global industry trade shows with an expected attendance of more than 30,000 healthcare professionals including physicians, nurses, HIT executives, pharmacists, vendor and healthcare IT professionals. This year’s event will include nearly 850 exhibition booths and more than 300 educational sessions with top product categories including EMR (electronic medical records), interoperability/integration tools, health information management, health information exchange and portal solutions.
At the upcoming event, Healthland will showcase product enhancements to its innovative EMR solution, and share recent case studies from hospitals reaping the rewards after EMR implementation.
“We’ve been listening to this critical market that provides safe and high-quality healthcare across the United States -often in rural areas where these services are what sustain the communities and people who live there - to understand the technology they need to create efficiencies and improve patient care,” said Angie Franks, Healthland Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing. “Together we are moving the ball forward with innovative products, tools and services. And, we have several success stories to tell. We work with small community and critical access hospitals of extremely high caliber - with many of the same business issues but fewer resources as their larger counterparts - and we hope by sharing these stories, others can learn from their efforts and progress in healthcare IT.”
Healthland representatives will be available for product demos at HIMSS09, booth #6827.
